L&T gets two orders from National Fertilisers worth Rs 2,155 crore

Larsen-ToubroLarsen & Toubro has announced today that it received two orders from National Fertilisers Ltd (NFL) which are worth Rs 2,155 crore. The order is for converting the feedstock of ammonia plant to natural gas.

Larsen & Toubro is involved in engineering, construction, power and IT services. L&T was a leading player in the field of restructuring in the fertilizer sector. The company has experience of executing similar projects on Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) basis in India and abroad.

The companies filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange said that L&T has received contracts from "National Fertilisers Ltd for ammonia feedstock conversion project at Panipat (Haryana) and Batinda (Punjab)."

The filing also said that the National Fertilisers is one of the leading producers of nitrogenous fertilisers in India with an installed capacity of about 3.3 million tonnes of urea and various other industrial products.

The order will see feedstock of the existing 900 tonnes per day (TPD) ammonia plant change from fuel oil to natural gas. The scope of work involves process license, know-how and basic engineering, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, interconnection with existing facilities, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning and performance guarantees.

The work on both the projects will go on side by side and is to be completed by January-end 2013. The project is awarded on a lump sum turnkey basis.

Shares of the company rose 0.17 per cent and were trading at Rs 1,427.50 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
