LFW 2010 To Be Chosen By Board MembersThe Advisory Board of Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) has decided to take the selection procedure in their own hands. Banking on the achievements from the preceding season, the board representing LFW is to select the next generation and up-and-coming designers for the forthcoming LFW Winter/ Festive 2010. As we know, LFW is the nation's premiere fashion and business event and with every passing year, it has been gaining prominence.

The current year commences one more landmark for LFW since the Gen Next stage completes a total of 5 years of flourishing input to the entire fashion industry and also to the fashion business. Constructing on its constant season over season expansion in the fashion applications, LFW shows extraordinary development in the quantity of Gen Next and Emerging designer applications for this season.

As per sources, this season has already received a total of 172 Gen Next applications that mark an increment of a whooping 81 percent. A total of 92 up-and-coming designer applications have recorded an increase of 44 percent when compared to previous term.

There also has been an increment of 64 percent in applications that have all come outside Mumbai and from throughout the nation, in comparison to the earlier season. So we can safely say that the trend is here to stay and the enthusiasm of designers has been off the hook.
