Lenovo unveils ThinkPad Twist convertible tabletLenovo has recently taken the veils off its Windows 8-based convertible tablet - dubbed ThinkPad Twist - which boasts a 12.5-inch screen that can be swiveled all the way around, and folded down to enable it work as a tablet.

The ThinkPad Twist - the new Lenovo ultrabook with swiveled hinges - is one of the four new convertible devices which have recently been introduced by Lenovo; the other three being the IdeaPad Yoga 13; the IdeaTab Lynx two-in-one, and the Yoga 11 with Windows RT. The swiveling screen of the Twist is a 350-nit Gorilla Glass-coated display with IPS technology.

Some of the other attractive features of the ThinkPad Twist include up to 8GB of RAM; 802.11n Wi-Fi; Bluetooth 4.0; and optional mobile broadband. The device also has the 3G option. To be powered by either a Core i5 processor or an i7 processor, the Twist will boast a 128GB SSD or a 7,200RPM hard drive, and 7 hours of battery life.

In addition to the above-mentioned features, the ThinkPad Twist will also have two USB 3.0 ports; mini-HDMI output; a mini-DisplayPort; a full-sized Ethernet jack; and a memory card reader; along with a Webcam, Dolby Home Theatre version 4, and a dual-array microphone.

To be available only in Mocha Black, the base version of the ThinkPad Twist will be available for $849; and the expected date for the release of the convertible device is October 26.
