Ladakh Confluence Brings Musicians From Across The World
usic knows no boundaries! Now, it has reached the 11,500 feet high, mountainous region of Ladakh. The second edition of the Ladakh Confluence is going to take place from the 15th to the 18th of July in the beautiful Ladakh valley. The second Ladkah Confluence will take place in a small village of Shey.
The music, art and culture will blend with the ecology of Ladakh where lots of artists from all over the world will unite to perform at the event.
Indian artistes like Sukhmani and Hari from Chandigarh will join the Viku Vinayakram from Chennai. The other musicians, who will be a part of the event, are supersonics from Kolkata and Young Musicians of the World from Hubli, The Bicycle Days from Bangalore, Murup Namgyal and Ali Mohommad Ladakh and The Pulp Society from Mumbai.
The international musicians like Christoph Pee Auer and Manu Delago from Austria, Mohommad Raza Mortazavi from Germany, Jamie Catto from UK and Karsh Kale from US will also be gracing the event at Ladakh.
A visual arts exhibition will be displayed, which will include works by artists like Katell Gélébart, a French artist based in India, Shilpa Gupta from India and Sabine Fazekas from France.
The Confluence will get collaboration from the UN Information Centre for India and Bhutan. It has also partnered with WWF-India, which is promoting the concept of sustainable tourism through this event.
Last year, 2,700 people attended the confluence. The festival this year aims to promote the indigenous Ladakhi crafts and will also campaign against the use of plastics. It seems the music festival also wants to make people environment friendly.
