Kiwi PM enters the Twitter world

Kiwi PM enters the Twitter worldWellington, Apr 24: After Oprah Winfrey, the latest celebrity to join in the craze of microblogging on Twitter is New Zealand Prime Minister John Key.

Till date, the NZ premier has posted five links to speeches and press releases, talking of things like the Government''s Job Support Scheme and an address to Grey Power.

"We''re still in the set-up phase, but I already have over 600 "followers". I''ll get more involved in future," The Press quoted Key as saying.

Twitter has become a global phenomenon with Britney Spears and Ashton Kutcher attracting more than one million followers.

It caught the attention of NZ parliamentarians when a right-wing blogger impersonated Labour MP David Cunliffe.

However, Cunliffe denied he had ever used the programme. (ANI)
