King Khan all set to receive an honorary doctorate

Shah Rukh KhanKing Khan is all set to become Dr Shah Rukh Khan. Shah Rukh Khan has been chosen by NGO Routes to Roots for an honorary doctorate in arts and culture from Britain's University of Bedfordshire.

Shah Rukh will receive his doctorate degree on July 10. Ashraf Jawaid from the University of Bedfordeshire said: "We are absolutely delighted to confer the honorary doctorate on Shahrukh Khan. He has made an outstanding contribution to the arts, culture and media which are recognized around the world." Shah Rukh welcomed the news.

He said that he was overwhelmed at being honored and that he will personally receive the doctorate degree in London. Routes to Roots, NGO, is a member of the World Association of Non-Governmental Organization (WANGO) that works with universities and educational trusts in various countries.

It strives to bring people and cultures together across the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) countries in general, and India and Pakistan in particular.

Tina Vachani, co-founder, Routes to Roots said that Shah Rukh Khan was selected by the NGO after careful study, since he has his head and heart at the right place, in spite of being crowned the king of Bollywood. The superstar has done immense work for the underprivileged and the downtrodden, and has always come forward for charitable causes in times of natural disasters.
