Kavveri Telecom acquires 67% in Canadian firm Trackcom A leading antennas and radio frequency (RF) products manufacturer, Kavveri Telecom, has acquired 67 per cent stakes in Canada based firm, Trackcom Systems International (TSI), for an undisclosed amount. The Bangalore-based company intends acquiring the remaining stakes of the Montreal-based designing and Development Company in coming 4-5 years.

TSI, having 20 engineers engaged in Research and Development activities, provides technology related solutions to North American companies like Axcera and Harris Stratax. Kavveri Telecom reported a loss of Rs 180 crore in the financial year 2008-09.

However, the recent acquisition will help the company strengthen its financial health, by increasing its efficiency in producing the RF products and antennas, used in defense and telecom sector, up to 40 Ghz.

Shivkumar Reddy, managing director, Kavveri Telecom said: "The acquisition of TSI is in line with our company's strategy for global markets. This acquisition brings additional high technology products into our portfolio which will strengthen Kavveri's position in defense, space and telecom markets."

Earlier in the year, Kavveri Telecom had acquired radio frequency interference products manufacturer, DCI Digital Communications, Til-Tek Antennae and Spotwave Wireless.
