Katy Perry ‘wrongly’ handed French music award

London, Jan 18 : Katy Perry has been wrongly handed the trophy for best international song at the NRJ Awards in Cannes.

The American singer collected one of the main prizes at France''s main music award ceremony thinking she had won - but it was intended for Rihanna for `Disturbia'.

Host Nikos Aliagas admitted the error and apologized at the end of the show, reports the BBC.

Legitimately, Perry scooped the best international album prize, while other winners included Enrique Iglesias, the Pussycat Dolls and the Jonas Brothers.

The winners at the ceremony - the French answer to the Grammys or the Brits - were voted for by listeners of radio station NRJ. (ANI)
