JSW Energy raises Rs 465 crore from Anchor Investors

jsw_logoIn the JSW Energy's public issue, Anchor Investors portion has been subscribed by 7 AIs at the rate of Rs. 110 per equity share, on 4th December. The company has allocated 4,22,60,820 equity shares and raised Rs. 464.87 crore from the investors.

Specifically, Eton Park has been allotted with 1.74 crore shares, 40.17 lakhs to Valiant Mauritius, 66.95 lakh shares to Deutsche Securities Mauritius, 43.47 lakh shares to Credit Suisse Singapore, 39.99 lakh shares to Highfields Capital Management, 26.78 lakh shares to Valiant Mauritius Partners Offshore and 30.43 lakh shares to Reliance Capital Trustee.

The public issue of worth Rs. 2,700 crore, which will have a price band between Rs 100 and Rs 115 per equity share, will open for subscription on December 7, 2009 and will close on December
9,
2009. The retail individual will get a discount of Rs. 5 at each share they buy.

The funds received from the issue will be utilized to partially finance construction and development of the Identified Projects, which total to 2,790 MW in capacity & 400 KV transmission project and mining venture costing Rs 2,142.53 crore and repayment of corporate debt of Rs 470 crore.

JSW Energy which was incorporated in the year 1994, is a part of the JSW group, which is further a part of O. P. Jindal Group.

The company has operational generating capacity of 860 MW and 2,790 MW of generating capacity in the construction or implementation phase, out of which 135 MW of which has been commissioned.

JSW Energy has registered a profit after tax of Rs 578.09 crore on the total income of Rs 1,593.98 crore, in the year ended March 31. And has posted profit after tax of Rs 294.62 crore on total income of Rs 926.28 crore, for the half year ended September 2009.
