Jharkhand government dismisses 129 doctors

Ranchi, June 5 : In Jharkhand, around 129 doctors on contract service were dismissed today. The doctors have been agitating since May 26, demanding that their service should be regularized.

The doctors, who were agitating, were asked to join the duty within 48 hours by the Government. Those who did not resume duty within the deadline, which ended on Wednesday night, were dismissed.

Health Minister Bhanu Pratap Sahi decided to dismiss the doctors after getting a green signal from Chief Minister Madhu Koda, according to government sources.

A total of 600 contractual doctors had been demanding regularization in their jobs since May 26. (ANI)
