Jet Airways looking for partnership with Air India
Jet Airways is ready to have a partnership with Air India for international flights. The company also plans to offer cargo services in near future. The company Chairman, Mr. Naresh Goyal has informed the media that Jet Airways is not much concerned about the relaxation of the 5-year condition to fly overseas. The company plans to share load with Air India on handling and catering services.
"We would co-operate with Air India to cut the costs as many other carriers co-operate in technical side ground handling, maintenance, catering everything. So I think we two can co-operate with each other, match our schedules; we can match our flights,” said Mr. Goyal in an official statement.
The company has delayed the Rights issue. The reason behind the delay is the volatile Indian stock market. The company has not revealed any future date for the issue. Technical analysts expect the company to come up with issue in January 2008. Jet Airways has many expansion plans which will be financed by Rights issue that is expected to fetch around US $400 million.
The company expects to show some profits by the end of current financial year. Aviation sector has seen consolidation in recent times. Kingfisher Airlines has been very active recently with Mr. Vijay Mallya having many plans along with Air Deccan.
Jet Airways has plans to fly overseas from January 2008. The company has already applied for license for flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Muscat.
