Jeff Bezos’s Aerospace Company preparing to launch Spaceship into Earth's orbit

Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon. com, has been moving ahead with his aerospace company, Blue Origin. The Billionaire has been preparing to launch a spacecraft into earth's orbit. According to reports, the spaceship will be capable of carrying humans into the planet's orbit.

The aerospace company headquartered in Kent, Washington, has finished designing and testing the engine that will power the spaceship called New Shepard. As per the reports, if Blue Origin succeeds in it maiden mission, the craft will one day carry about three passengers to a height of about 62 miles.

Rob Meyerson, President of Blue Origin, said that a test flight could take place soon, but Meyerson did not reveal when the test flight will take place. According to Blue Origin President, the engine is ready to flight and for other commercial users.

Meyerson further said that the company will fly the spaceflight for a number of time unmanned before the test flights include pilots. With the announcement, Blue Origin has joined a handful of companies that are planning to offer commercial spaceflight services.

Blue Origin's New Shepard is a suborbital system, like commercial company Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo, two-pilot spaceship, which is expected to resume test flights later this year. Last year, Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo had crashed in Mojave .Rocket Engine Company XCOR Aerospace has also been working on a two-seater spaceship, Lynx, which could debut this year.

Companies like Space Exploration Technologies and Boeing have been skipping suborbital spaceflight and working on systems to carry passengers into earth's orbit.

Blue Origin's New Shepard vehicle will be powered by a liquefied natural gas motor, called the BE-4. The gas motor is being developed with United Launch Alliance, a partnership of Lockheed Martin Corp and Boeing.
