Jayalalithaa releases Vision Tamil Nadu 2023
State Chief Minister, Ms J. Jayalalithaa has released the `Vision Tamil Nadu 2023' document that calls for providing piped water supply, education, healthcare, housing and employment to everyone in the state next ten years.
The plan for the state is looking to boost economic growth through investment in infrastructure. The Chief Minister pointed out that the vision document not only focuses on loping industries and attracting investments but is also aims at inclusive, socio-economic growth.
The plan is to improve quality of life of the people in the state by providing clean drinking water, sanitation, universal secondary education and employment to everyone. Ms Jayalalithaa said claimed ambitiously that no one in the state will be left out in the state's economic development that will involve income growing six times at current prices to Rs
4.50 lakh.
The state government is aiming to make the state among the top three investment destinations in Asia. It is investing in infrastructure development in 10 major cities and towns in order to create global standard facilities for attracting industrial investments. It is estimated that about Rs. 15 lakh crore in investments will be required in the state.
She said that the government alone will not be able to invest the amount and participation from private as well as foreign players will be needed.
