Jaiprakash Hydro Power Limited, a part of the Jaypee Group, has decided to raise up to Rs 1,500 crore through various means, including stake-sale or issue of securities in domestic as well as global markets for funding its projects.

It should be noted that shareholders of the company have already approved the proposal for raising funds up to Rs 1,500 cr through FPO (follow-on public offer) or ADRs and GDRs among others.

The company has plans to add 2,000MW power generation capacity comprising hydro and thermal in the current five-year plan period ending 2012.
