Intel Capital chalk outs investment plan for Indian companiesThe financial arm of Intel, Intel Capital has announced investment plans for various Indian companies. It would invest $23 million in three Indian companies namely One97 Communications, IndiaMART. com and Global Talent Track.

The company formed an Intel Capital India Technology Fund worth $250-million in December 2005 and a major portion of this fund would be used to fund these companies.

The company would invest in the fields of WiMAX and mobility, clean tech and renewable energy, consumer Internet and education in coming times. Sources said that it would invest about $9-10 million in IndiaMART. com which is an online platform for apparels, chemicals and electronics items. Intel Capital has already invested significant amount in the vocational education firm, Global Talent Track for setting up new training centers.

Intel Capital and Silicon Valley Bank have already sectioned funds worth $15 million to Telecom Solution Company, One97 Communications. The company would use these funds for 3G development and research work.

Intel Capital is funding Indian firms since 1998. It provided funds to travel portal Yatra. com, events-oriented social networking portal BuzzInTown. com and out-of-home advertising firm, Emnet Samsara Media Pvt. Ltd. last year.

The company would appoint a new director and business observer to deliver efficient services to customers and patterns.
