ICL: Nail-Biting Win For Lions

ICL: Nail-Biting Win For LionsAn unbeaten knock of 41 runs by Sarabjeet Singh saw an exciting win for Chandigarh Lions over Mumbai Champs in the ICL T20 match at the LB Stadium here.

Singh came as a rescuer for the Lions who were struggling after losing six wickets while chasing a victory target of 136 set by the Champs. His 41 not out off just 22 balls included three huge sixes.

Former South African all-rounder Andrew Hall who scored a crucial 17 runs at the end, gave the much needed support to Singh. Lions opener Mathew Elliot gave a good start despite losing his partners at frequent intervals. Champs skipper Astle took four wickets while Kasprowicz scalped three.

Earlier batting first, Mumbai Champs were restricted to 135 for six in the allotted 20 overs. The top order of Champs, including Astle and Umar, collapsed like a pack of cards. Except Kiran Powar (45 n.o.) no other batsman could stay for long at the wicket.

Scores in brief:

Mumbai Champs 135/6 (Kiran Powar 45; Daryl Tuffey 2/25) lost to Chandigarh Lions 137/8 (Matthew Elliott 38; Sarabjit Singh 41*; Nathan Astle 4/19).
