Honda aiming to sell 50,000 Amaze units this year
Japanese auto maker, Honda Motor Company is aiming to sell 50,000 units of both petrol and diesel version of its new Amaze model during the current fiscal year, 2013-14 in the Indian market.
Honda Cars India Limited will launch the vehicle on April 11, 2013 through its retail outlets across the country. The much anticipated Honda Amaze is believed to be the first Honda vehicle in India with a diesel engine. The dedicated website lists some technical specifications and other India specific details and says that the model will be launched in both Petrol and Diesel forms in the Indian market during the financial year 2013-2014.
Experts say that the company developed a small diesel engine specifically for the Indian market that was inspired by the 1.6L EarthDreams diesel engine. Honda Amaze is most likely to support a 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine when it is launched in the Indian market. The model will compete with the likes of likes of Swift Dzire, Indigo CS and yet to launch Verito CS in the Indian market.
The new Amaze will be launched with a price range of starting from Rs. 4.99 lakh for the base petrol till Rs. 7.5 lakh for the automatic petrol version. On the other hand, the Amaze diesel will have a price range starting from Rs. 5.99 lakh till Rs. 7.6 lakh.
