Hoisting surreal taste!
Eating at Flag's is a real experience. The quintessential food is mouth-watering, mesmerising, lip-smacking, finger licking (though you don't really get a chance to dig your fingers into the food) and manna for epicureans. What's different with Flag's is that they don't call themselves multi-cuisine and who would if they have cuisines from about 42 nations listed sassily in the elegantly designed menu card. They are a world cuisine restaurant and definitely live up to the name.
Suggestively, skip your lunch to enjoy the real essence of Flag's. Enter through the bold doors into a relaxed dimply lit ambience humming good music and settle down for a treat. Before you dig into the menu card and get ready for a truly international dining experience, wet your taste buds with the Jamaican Snowfall (Rs150) or the Red Rocking Margarita (Rs450) or just go for the true delight- the appetisers. The Spanish Pinchos Morunos Pollo (Rs250) is the best start. The Chicken Negimaki priced same, is another great choice and gives an inimitable experience of the essence of Japanese food. If you love prawns or want to try them out for the first time without the confusion factor of whether you would like it or not, then go for the traditional Spanish tasters of prawns and Spanish flavours, Degustacion de Camarones (Rs450). For mushroom lovers, the Italian Crostini di Funghi Martini (Rs225) is a great option. If fritters are your must haves, go for the Khao Pod Tod from Thailand (Rs225) and try not to forget the sauces along! Tortilla lovers should go in for the Mexican Quesadillas (Rs200) and enjoy the mini meal along with servings of Guacamole, Pico de Gallo and Sour Cream. If Indian khana is what can appease your taste buds then go for the Tandoori Kebabs (Rs250) or the Kombdi Mirchi Lasoon (Rs175). Flag's top seller Mezze Platter with Khubus is the Lebanese delight (Rs300) for the hummus and pitta bread lovers.
If you are a salad lover, then there are about 18 salads to choose from. There's also a section called farinaceous, which is for the different kind of noodles and rice lovers. Go for the lip-smacking and very delicious Burmese Khauswe (Rs250) which is undoubtedly their top seller. The Brazilian Gambas a Grega (Rs400) is also a great option for shrimp lovers. Peru's Aji de Gallina, Lebanese Mahi Sefid (both Rs400) are awesome offers for the salivating taste buds. But before you dig in the kaleidoscope of food items just remember to keep some place in your stomach (and mind) for desserts. The French Celeste Peche (Rs300) offers not only sinful pleasure but is also a visual delight. You can also go for the English Banofee Pie (Rs250) to end your sumptuous treat! It's a true experience dining at Flag's. Get ready to become a regular flag hoister!
