The Apple iPhone had been eagerly awaited to be launched and when finally it High Price Tag Of iPhone Fails To Attract Customers  was launched, the customers took a back due to its heavy price tag.

The same iPhone is much cheaper in US, where it was launched in June 2007, and it won the hearts of the customers immediately. However, the same Apple iPhone 3G, which was launched on the midnight of Thursday by Vodafone and Bharti Airtel, received a Luke warm response.

Only a few people reached to grab their iPhone on the midnight of Thursday. The reason was obvious that most people feel that it is out of the reach of their pockets. The 8GB model of iPhone 3G is for RS 31,000, where as the 16GB model of the same is priced at Rs 36,100.

One of the customer’s named Apsara Singhal who is an engineer wanted to buy the iPhone but immediately changed her mind on listening to its price, “I had eagerly waited for the iPhone to arrive in India but they have been priced so heavily that now it’s beyond my reach. Earlier it was supposed to cost between Rs 12,000-15,000, but now it’s more than double. In this age of inflation, I would rather choose to keep my desire of having an iPhone under wraps for some time.”

The official from Cellular Phone Company, however claim that the high price of the iPhone is just for temporary basis.

However, there were still others, who didn’t feel the price tag was that a big hurdle between them and their wow-gadget.  

Rudra Khurana, a class VII student of Modern School, Vasant Vihar, was one of the first buyers of the iPhone in Delhi. He said, “Though I know that 3G facilities are yet to come to India and I can't make optimum use of my phone, I am thrilled to have it. I will take it to school and all of my friends can have a nice time using the new gadget.”
