HEC Pockets Rs 1,038 Cr Order From Bhilai Steel Plant
The Ranchi-based Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd (HEC), the largest integrated engineering complex in the country, has received Rs 1,038 crore order from the Bhilai Steel Plant for supplying complete coal handling plant.
The order, to be executed on turnkey basis, is likely to be finished within 30 months
The scope of order includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning. The main equipments to be supplied include wagon handling system, yard equipments, conveyor and related equipments.
Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd, a PSU, was set up in 1958 as the largest Integrated Engineering Industrial Complex in India with excellent design, engineering and manufacturing base.
The company is engaged in the manufacture and supply of capital equipment, machine tools for core sector industries, especially steel.
The company has three construction units, namely foundry forge unit, heavy machine building unit and heavy machine tools plant, and a projects and consultancy division. It is a major supplier to steel, defence, power, aluminium, mining sectors and the railways.
The company has supplied quality equipment for critical areas during installation of Bokaro Steel Plant in the 1970s and during modernisation of SAIL plants in the 1990s.
