Happy Birthday Big B
Bollywood shenshah Amitabh Bachchan who is celebrating his 66th birthday on Saturday needs no introduction.
Amitabh is perhaps the only actor in the history of Indian cinema, who even in his sixties, continues to give taut competition to younger actors.
Born to Harivansh Rai, famous Indian poet, and Teji Bachchan October 11, 1942 in Allahabad, Amitabh borrowed his father's pen name 'Bachchan' instead of the family surname Srivastava.
He completed his early schooling from Boys' High School in Allahabad while he earned his graduation from Sherwood College in Nainital. After that he enrolled himself at Delhi's Kirori Mal College for a degree in science.
After completing his studies, Amitabh took up a job in a shipping firm called Bird and Co. in Kolkata. In order to pursue his career in the films he soon left his job.
He started his film career from ‘Saat Hindustani' in 1969. However, the film was a complete disaster at the box-office.
Amitabh's first hit at the box-office was 'Anand', which earned him his first Filmfare Award for the Best Supporting Actor in 1970.
After ‘Anand’, he didn’t look back and gave back to back many hits at the box-office.
