Hammond calls for early delivery from rail services reportAccording to the report crafted by Sir Roy McNulty, chairperson of the review done by the previous government, expressed that the taxpayer shall support the rail industry which has doubled by £5.2 billion since the privatization.

Further it also expressed that the excessive costs of Network Rail, which is a not-for-profit firm looking after the maintenance of tracks and infrastructure, is considered less efficient than the railways in other parts of Europe, further setting call to radical measures to minimize the cuts to services.

Further the chairperson seems to be serious in tackling the escalating issue of cost on Britain's railways. The Transport Secretary Philip Hammond advised McNulty to submit his initial findings by this autumn to check with the Government spending review. According to Hammond the Passengers and taxpayers shall certainly raise the question, in the coming time regarding the expensive fare of railways in UK than the one in the rest of Europe.

Keeping in view the financial constraints, it is important to make a note of the inefficiencies and reduce costs, as value for money is the only option available to save the matters to escalate further.

Although the numbers has increased in terms of passengers on Britain's railways, however the revenue churned out from the fares is yet to keep pace with the inclining costs of running the network.
