Haier Eyes Rs 500 Cr In 2008; Rolls Out New Product Range
Chinese durables giant Haier is paving its path for the betterment of its customers, and looking to make India an export center for its worldwide operations.
Haier Appliances India, the wholly owned subsidiary of China-based global consumer durable firm Haier Group Corp (HGC) is eyeing to accumulate a turnover of Rs 550 crore in India within the existing year (2008).
The company aims 70% advancement in its revenue in 2008 via launching a slew of products and product ranges coupled with strong ad campaign to attain the said objective.
While launching new products, Pranay Dhabhai, whole-time director and COO, Haier Appliances (India) said, “This year, as Haier is introducing some new products and at the same time it is expanding some of the existing product range, we are expecting our revenues to cross Rs. 550 crore.”
The company has rolled out a new array of air conditioner including 16 split AC models and nine window AC models. Besides, it also launched nine new refrigerator models, in both frost-free and direct-cool categories plus a new variety of washing machines and LCD television sets.
In 2008, Haier is targeting about 8% market share in refrigerator section and 10% market share in the AC segment.
“We are targeting a sale of one lakh units in washing machine and two lakh units in the TV segment,” Dhabhai said.
