Amsterdam  - International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) Monday found one of its former officials guilty of contempt of court for having published confidential information on some of its trials.

The court in The Hague ordered Florence Hartmann to pay a fine of 7,000 euros (10,215 dollars). The 46-year-old French national was the spokeswoman for former the tribunal chief prosecutor Carla del Ponte from 2000-2006.

She was indicted by the ICTY in late 2008 on charges of having disclosed confidential data related to the war crimes trial of the former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic in her book, Peace and Punishment, and an article on genocide the previous year. (dpa)
