Great Eastern Q4 net profit dips 16.48%; declares dividend of Rs 3 per share
Great Eastern Shipping Company, India's largest private shipping company, has registered decline of 16.48 per cent it its net profit to Rs 250.05 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009.
The company registered a net profit of Rs 299.41 crore in the same quarter ended March 31, 2008.
Further, company’s total income for the quarter has also dipped to 622.41 crore from Rs 824.34 crore during the same quarter in 2007-08.
For the financial year ended March 2009, the company posted a net profit after tax of Rs 1384.82 crore, up 2.06 per cent against Rs 1356.81 crore in FY’08.
In addition, company’s total income has also increased from Rs 3057.98 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008 to Rs 3364.75 crore for the year ended March 31, 2009.
Apart from announcement of results, the shipping company had on May 8, declared 3rd Interim dividend of Rs. 3 per share for the financial year 2008-09. The interim dividends shall be paid on or after May 21, 2009.
