Government firm on the 2G spectrum loss figures
Kapil Sibal recently lashed out the CAG report that claimed that the government exchequer had incurred losses of 1.76 lakh crore. He believed that the figures were inflated to a great extent.
The BJP and the Left however, have not taken Sibal's statement too seriously about CAG's computation of revenue losses in allocation of 2G spectrum.
The government however has decided to stick to its defence and is raising its voice against the fact that the reports of the auditors were being examined by the Public accounts committee.
The government however still stays firm on the stand that the revenue loss in the 2G allocations in the CAG states that the loss is Rs 1.76 lakh crore.
Though challenging the findings of the auditors could be a touch risky but the government has already challenged the figures.
A. Raja was the chief accused of the 2G spectrum scam and is facing questions from the CBI and is being monitored upon. Other accused include Pradip Baijal, ex- Trai chief and corporate lobbyist Niira Radia.
