Google Play now lets you Pre-Register for Upcoming Apps

Google has come up with an interesting new feature to the Google Play Store through which users can pre-register for upcoming Android apps.

The first app that will be offered to pre-register is Terminator Genisys: Revolution. Once the app is released you'll get a notification. On receiving the alert, you will be able to install the app.

Terminator Genisys: Revolution is a game which has no set release date or price quite yet. However, the app's landing page has provided all the other details, including a video, screenshots and a description.

With the help of the preregistration feature the game's developer, Glu Mobile has, advertised that the game is coming soon, before it's actually ready to play.

Latest details will come to light before the app is released as a result of which many people may change their mind. If that is the case then all that the user can do is tap the 'unregister' button.

Pre-registering has come up as an effective feature. It will be helpful in keeping a user on the top of new releases. Hopefully, Google Play will soon add the ability to pre-load upcoming apps.

In a statement Google said, "When you pre-register for apps and games, you'll get a notification the day the item becomes available to download. For paid items, you won't be charged until you install the app or game".

One of the positives of this feature is developers will be able to assure customers that their Android apps are in the works. But, it has a downside too because there's no release date or price, so the user will not be able to make out how long he will be required to wait for the arrival of the title.
