‘Golmaal Returns’ brings cheer at box office

‘Golmaal Returns’ brings cheer at box officeThe astounding success of 'Golmaal Returns' has brought the much-needed respite to the film industry after a practically 'dry spell' of luck, following poor box office response to big budgeted films.

'Golmaal Returns'- produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd and directed by Rohit Shetty - is a sequel to one of the biggest grossers of 2006, 'Golmaal.'

The Diwali release, which opened in theatres on Wednesday, unlike the customary Friday, earned Rs 72 crore gross in the opening week worldwide. Exhibitors and distributors are thrilled with the film's response all over India.

Reacting to the success of the film, Rohit Shetty said that the box office response to 'Golmaal Returns' is much bigger in comparison to the original film.

Actor Ajay Devgan, who played the lead role in the hit film, is revelling its success, and has announced part three in the series.

On his blog, the versatile actor wrote: "'Golmaal Returns' has turned out to be one of the biggest films this year. I am thrilled to know that the film has collected more than Rs
34 crore in the first five days of its release. We are also proud to announce 'Golmaal 3'"

He added: "For the time being we all are enjoying the super success of 'Golmaal Returns' before we start working towards the next one."

On the success of the film, Ajay said: "Kudos to Rohit Shetty and his team."
