Girls Outperform Boys In UP Board Class XII Results
According to an official, the girls outshine the boys in class 12th examination of the UP Board of High school and Intermediate, which were declared today.
Mr. Sanjay Mohan, director of Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Sanjay Mohan told, "The total pass percentage of girls is 89.62, while that of boys is 73.55. The overall pass percentage is 80.54."
According to officials, 80.54% pupils passed the XIIth examinations in UP in which the pass percentage of girls is higher by 16%. Only 73.55% boys passed the exams.
This year 15,36,949 pupils registered for the Class 12 UP board exams, out of which 14,78,040 pupil appeared for the exams.
Sultanpur region registered a pass percentage of 91.06, the best in the state, whereas the lowest pass percentage of 37.38 was recorded in Ballia region.
Though no official merit list has been released by the board, sources said Navdeep Kumar, a Hindi medium student from the Saraswati Vidya Mandir in Fatehpur district topped the exam with 93.40 percent marks.
A few years back, the board administrators decided to scrap the merit list, saying it created unhealthful competition among pupils. (With Inputs from Agencies)
