Ghaziabad court rejects Talwar's bail plea, remands him to police custody for 3 days
NOIDA, May 27 : A Ghaziabad court in its second hearing after an hour’s postponement, today rejected the bail application of dentist Rajesh Talwar, the man accused of killing his daughter Arushi and also remanded him to police custody for three days.
Lawyers agitating over the Gujjar issue had entered the courtroom shouting slogans this afternoon, which led to disruption in the proceedings for an hour.
Talwar was brought to Chief Judicial Magistrate A K Singh’s court from the Dasna Jail in Ghaziabad.
On Saturday, Dr. Talwar's lawyers had filed bail applications, saying there was no evidence to link him with the crime.
On Sunday, the wife and brother of Dr. Talwar visited him at the Dasna Jail.
Dr. Talwar's brother, Dinesh Talwar said the family believed Rajesh to be 100 per cent innocent.
Earlier, Nupur Talwar had come out in strong defence of her husband claiming his innocence in the murder of their daughter and domestic help.
Arushi, a class IX student of Delhi Public School in Noida, was found in her bedroom with her throat slit last Friday. A day later, Hemraj, the Nepali help of the Talwar household, who was initially named as a prime suspect by Noida Police, was found dead on the terrace. His throat was also slit in a similar manner.
