A new study has revealed that breastfeeding for at least two months, can lessen the risk of having relapses in women suffering from multiple sclerosis (MS).

The study presented at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Neurology said that women with MS have less relapses during pregnancy, while the risk of experiencing the same increases considerably during the first 3 to 4 months postpartum.

The study said that women who breastfed for at least two months after pregnancy may slash their risk of getting multiple sclerosis symptoms back by one-third.

Country's largest power generation and other heavy equipment maker, Bharat Heavy Electricals has paid an interim dividend of Rs 298 crore to the Central Government for its financial performance during 2008-09.

On account of the equity participation of 67.72 per cent in the corporation, a dividend cheque for Rs 298 crore was presented to Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Sontosh Mohan Dev by BHEL Chairman and Managing Director K Ravi Kumar.

The Japanese company would also come up with some factories during this period. At present, the company imports washing machines, air conditioners and plasma TVs from its Thailand and Japan units in India.     

The data from study of 12 European cities from Dublin to Valencia disclosed that temperatures increase during the summer may increase the number of hospitalizations for respiratory problems, especially among elderly people.

The data comes from a European project known as the “Assessment and Prevention of Acute Health Effects of Weather Conditions in Europe” (PHEWE).

Here’s a good news for the Indians as the telecom market in the country added a record number of customers in a single month.

In India, more than 15 million telephone connections were added during the last month.

In its latest report, TRAI said that the country now has over 400 million telecom connections. With this, the total number of those people who are using mobiles in the country has gone to 362.30 million.

Local astronomers said that the best chance to see a green-tinged comet named ‘Lulin’ will be tonight and Tuesday night.

Observers said that this space oddball is moving nearer to the Earth, and will be visible to the naked eye as a faint (magnitude +5.6) gassy patch in the constellation Virgo before dawn.

Initially discovered by a Chinese teen just over a year ago, ‘Lulin’ is making its possibly first and last flyby of Earth this month, moving from the outermost edges of the solar system around 18 trillion miles away.
