Stone of Himachal’s First IIT LaidIn the presence of a large gathering of dignitaries and local citizens, Union Minister of State for External Affairs & Information & Broadcasting Anand Sharma laid the foundation stone of the state’s first Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) at Mandi. The town of Mandi is known for its temples.

While speaking on this occasion, Anand Sharma said, “The central government last year decided to increase the number of IITs in the country to 15 from the existing seven. Six (IITs) started functioning last year and this (IIT-Mandi) and IIT-Indore would start admission process from this year.”

JMM Chief Shibu Soren Hospitalized In RanchiJMM President and former Jharkhand State Chief Minister Shibu Soren was hospitalized following a suspected urinary infection.

Soren, who is in his 60s, was admitted to the intensive care unit of Bokaro General Hospital.

Speaking with the reporters over JMM leader condition, BN Mahapatra (Medical director, Bokaro General Hospital) said, “"He is running a high fever and we suspect urine infection. Tests are being conducted.”

According to the doctors the blood pressure of the JMM leader was found high.

After opening positive, broader indices including BSE Midcap and Smallcap were also trading weak by 0.59% and 0.81% respectively.
