Hong Kong shares rise 3.5 per cent on China rescue dealHong Kong  - Hong Kong stocks rose by 3.52 per cent Monday as investors reacted positively to a 600 billion-US-dollar economic stimulus package for the Chinese economy announced by Beijing.

The blue-chip Hang Seng Index consolidated a 3 per cent rise in share prices on Friday with a 501.2-point rise to close the day at 14,744.63.

In early trading, the market soared by 5.5 per cent to break through the 15,000-point barrier before falling back later in the day. Turnover was 60.7 billion Hong Kong dollars (7.83 billion US dollars).

Leopard killed in Nainital road mishapNainital, Nov 10 : A three-year-old male leopard was killed in a road accident near Ramnagar forest area of Jim Corbett National Park on Sunday.

Wildlife officials said they found the dead leopard during regular patrolling.

Preliminary investigations reveal the leopard could have been hit by a speeding vehicle.

" There were blood stains and blood was coming out from its nose also," said Prakash Chand, Range Officer, Ramnagar Forest Division.

"The blood samples have been taken and further investigations would be carried out," he added.

Tourist molested in Kerala

Tourist molested in KeralaA Spanish tourist was allegedly molested by a 42-year-old person near Payyambalam Beach in Kannur on last Sunday.

N.S Jayakumar, working as a clerk at Defence security corps. accosted and molested the Spanish lady while she was on a road leading to the beach.

Kerala police has arrested the accused and lodged a case in this connection.

But the Spanish lady didn’t register a FIR and described the incident as the most 'bitter experience' after coming to India as a tourist.

She left the beach soon after police caught Jayakumar.

Russia, IndiaNew Delhi, Nov 10 : A well-known Russian fashion designer, Vyacheslav Zaitsev who showcased his traditional Russian dresses at the Indo-Russian cultural exchange program here, has expressed a desire to launch an Indian line of clothing soon.

Zaitsev, said the young generation is a source of inspiration for him.

"I hope that the collaboration that I am trying to work out with Indian designer will help us to start a new venture. We are negotiating. I think we will create a new range of line for the Indian audience. I think my dresses have an international look and are acceptable in many countries," said Zaitsev.
