Afghan official says three civilians killed by US soldiers

Afghanistan MapKabul - An official in eastern Afghanistan said Wednesday three civilians were killed and two others were wounded when their house was attacked by US soldiers.

A man, his wife and 15-year-old son were killed in a coalition force raid in Khost, the capital of the province of the same name, a senior provincial official, who declined to be named, said.

He said two other civilians, a woman and a child, were wounded by "US soldiers firing." The official said the coalition forces did not inform the Afghan security forces of their operation in advance.

Robbie Williams may replace Dannii Minogue as X Factor judge

London, Dec 17 : Rumours are rife that Aussie singer Dannii Minogue, 37, may be sacked and replaced by English singer Robbie Williams as an X Factor judge.

Simon Cowell, one of the show's bosses, is said to be looking forward to forming his dream team with Cheryl Cole, Louis Walsh, and Williams so that the panel gets more pop star quality.

"It looks like Simon has decided on his dream line-up and is determined that's what he will get," the Daily Star quoted a source as saying.

"He's used to getting his own way so he'll be going all out to get Cheryl. Getting Robbie would also be an amazing coup - he's a megastar," the source added.

FIA probing transfer of billions of rupees from Karachi to NWFP

KarachiLahore, Dec. 17 : The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has detained several people for being involved in a racket to transfer billions of rupees from Karachi to the North West Frontier Province.

After arresting the directors of Khanani and Kalia International (KKI) last month, the FIA on Tuesday detained another market leader Mehboob Moti, Director of the Al-Sahara Exchange Company, in Karachi.

This was not the first time that Mehboob Moti was summoned by the FIA authorities as earlier he had been asked to appear on a few occasions in connection with an enquiry pending with the FIA.

Polish PM calls for change in constitution to enter eurozone

Poland would need to alter its constitution to allow the European Central Bank to be a monetary authority in the country. Currently the constitution gives the National Bank sole power to distribute money

Tusk has been working to sway Poland's euro-sceptic Law and Justice party, whose support is needed to change the constitution.

She will spearhead Just Cavalli's autumn winter campaign, reports the Mirror.

Just Cavalli is the diffusion line from Italian designer Roberto Cavalli, who has branched out into nightclubs too, opening his first in a 15th-century deconsecrated church in Florence at the weekend.

Cavalli also plans to open two more high-end nightspots - one to be opened in Dubai at the end of January, and another in Milan a few weeks later.
