Turkey would provide troops for Gaza peace force - spokesman

Turkey FlagIstanbul - Turkey would be willing to provide troops for a peacekeeping force in the Gaza Strip, a government spokesman said Wednesday.

According to a report in the daily Sabah newspaper, the Turkish government is pushing for an international peacekeeping force to supervise a new ceasefire agreement.

In Ankara's view, such forces would also monitor the network of some 200 tunnels beneath the Egyptian-Gaza border which are being used to smuggle weapons, as well as goods and food products, into the Gaza Strip.

Muhammad Saad Iqbal, now back at home in Lahore told The New York Times that he was beaten, tightly shackled, covered with a hood, given drugs and subjected to electric shocks by Egyptian interrogators at the urging of US agents after being arrested without charges in Jakarta in 2002.

During an appearance on Monday's The Late Show with David Letterman, when the host brought up the subject of Hathaway''s split from Follieri, who is currently serving a four-and-a-half year prison sentence, Hudson laughed and replied, "Surprises in life are awesome."

When asked whether Hudson had met Hathaway before the movie, she jokingly replied, "We met the Pope."

Washington, Jan 07 : Hollywood actress Jennifer Love Hewitt is "having a tough time" in the wake of her breakup with fiancé Ross McCall, according to reports.

The revelation was made by a source on the set of the stunner's hit show `The Ghost Whisperer'.

"She is usually very bubbly, but she is more quiet and seems sad," People magazine quoted a source, as saying.

"She usually hangs out with the crew between takes, but [Tuesday] she is only hanging out with her bodyguard," the source added.

It has also been reported that unlike her trademark professional attitude, Hewitt has skipped work.

Metropolitan Police being sued for £1M over alleged sex pest cops

London, January 7 : The Metropolitan Police in the UK is being sued for one million pounds by two serving WPCs, alleging that they have been pestered by sex-obsessed cops.

While one of them claims that her groin was repeatedly groped when she was at a police station, the other says that a male officer pulled down his trousers and asked her to perform a sex act on him as he drove on patrol.

WPCs Julie Facey, 33, and Paula Church, 35, are bringing the law suit over the alleged actions of three PCs based in Essex.

While Facey said that the first officer pestered her for sex, Church said that he sexually assaulted her repeatedly.
