New Delhi, Mar 6 : The Supreme Court on Friday referred the report of Justice B. N. Srikrishna on the clash between lawyers and police, to the Madras High Court.

The report will decide whether there is a need for holding a judicial inquiry into the incident.

A bench headed by Chief Justice K. G. Balakrishnan said the High Court has to determine the need for a judicial inquiry under the Commission of Inquiry Act.

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 6 : Resul Pookutty, the triumphant Oscar winner returned home to a rousing welcome in Kerala on Friday.

The State Government accorded him a grand welcome at a function held here.

Pookutty, who hails from Kerala''s Kollam district said, "This is a grandeur welcome that anybody can hope to get. I am completely elated. I can''t explain. I don''t have words."

Pookutty, who won the sound mixing Oscar for Slumdog Millionaire, will be in Kerala till March 13. During this period, he will attend several events across the State.

Madrid - The Spanish football federation on Friday confirmed that the King's Cup final will be played in Valencia's Estadio Mestalla and not moved to a bigger ground.

The federation said in a statement that that Mestalla was chosen for the May 13 fina at the request of Valencia, as part of the celebration of the club's 90th anniversary.

Both finalists, Athletic Bilbao and Barcelona, had been considering asking the federation to change the venue to a bigger stadium - such as Real Madrid's Estadio Bernabeu - in order to satisfy the demand for tickets from their fans.

Tehran - Iran will send Interpol a list of over 100 Israeli "war-criminals," Fars news agency reported Friday.

Tehran general prosecutor Saaid Mortzavi said that "a list with more than 100 Zionist (Israeli) criminals involved in the massacre of the Palestinian people has been prepared and would gradually be sent to Interpol."

Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami said during Friday prayers that the only appropriate sentence for the Israeli war criminals should be execution.

Valletta, Malta - Nine people are expected to be charged in court in Malta for wearing religious vestments during the recent carnival, the police said.

The nine people aged between 20 and 35 years will be marched to court, days after Maltese bishops raised concerns about the behaviour of certain individuals and the costumes worn during this year's carnival in the small island of Gozo.

It is customary for some young people to dress up as priests and nuns during the rowdy carnival in the staunchly Catholic island.
