Washington, Apr 14 : Heart patients who become depressed are at greater risk for heart failure (HF), a condition in which the heart can''t pump enough blood throughout the body, says a new study.

The study published in the April 21, 2009, issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, is the first to investigate the influence of depression after heart disease on the likelihood of developing HF.

The research also found that taking antidepressant medications to ease depressive symptoms did not appear to mitigate this risk.

New Delhi, Apr 14 : The nation on Tuesday paid rich tribute to Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his 118th birth anniversary.

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate L K Advani came together at a function and paid homage to Ambedkar.

Several functions are being organised in different parts of the country to mark the occasion.

Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was an Indian jurist, scholar, Bahujan political leader and a Buddhist revivalist.

Ambedkar spent his life fighting untouchability and the Indian caste system.

According to a source, Winehouse went to her studio on Caribbean isle St Lucia and penned her emotional song, hours after hearing the news.

However, their vocal efforts weren’t up to scratch on theme tune ‘On Me ’Ead’, penned by Lily’s dad Keith Allen.

It was then the ‘Smile’ hitmaker made her secret pop debut as a fresh-faced 14-year-old.

London, April 14 : Prince William crashed a million pound plane during his Royal Air Force training after hitting a wrong button, it has emerged.

The 26-year-old, who is honing his skills to become a Search and Rescue Officer, was reportedly preparing to land a high-power Tucano.

But he allegedly grounded the plane, leaving the engine “overcooked” and out of action.

Engineering chief Joe Watt said the incident was not unprecedented.

“He’s not the only one. Better pilots than him have done it,” the Sun quoted Watt as saying.

Crediting the victory to team effort, Sandeep Singh, the team''s captain said, "It is the hard work put in by our team which we are seeing now. It is a joint effort of our coaches and the team members."

The coach of the team termed the victory a good beginning for Indian hockey.
