Karachi, Apr. 18 : With the International Cricket Council (ICC) deciding to shift the 2011 cricket World Cup matches from Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to suffer a whopping 10.5 million dollar loss.

"We lose out on earning the hosting fees of the matches. The ICC pay out the host country 750,000 dollars for each match," PCB's Chief Operating Officer Saleem Altaf said.

Altaf said the loss could be much more than what has been estimated.

Beijing, Apr. 18 : A Chinese police officer has publicly apologized for arresting a blogger, who wrote against a local party for illegally acquisitioning farmland.

"I would like to apologize to Wang and his family as I am partly responsible for the incident. There was not enough evidence to arrest Wang Shuai on defamation charges," the China daily quoted Qin Yuhai, Director of Henan Provincial Public Security Bureau, as saying.

London, Apr. 18 : A wooden putter which was used to take the final winning shot in the 1939 British Open has been discovered dumped in a garage, reports The Telegraph.

Golfer Garry Bingham, 50, had stashed the club amid his clutter 20 years ago not realising its value.

English golfer Dick Burton is believed have used the club to sink the winning putt at The Open Championship in 1939, when it was played on the Old Course at St Andrews in Scotland.

Manigachi (Bihar), Apr 18 : Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad on Saturday said the Congress was responsible for the demolition of the Babri mosque in Ayodhya in 1992.

"The Congress failed to protect the Babri mosque, as it did nothing to prevent it. Not only the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Congress is also equally responsible for the demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya," Prasad said at an election rally here.
