Simon Pegg calls ‘Star Trek’ UK premiere ''geek dream’Washington, Apr 21: English actor Simon Pegg called his experience of new Star Trek film premiere at London''s West End a ‘geek dream’.

The 39-year-old actor, who plays Scotty in the sci-fi series, came wearing a kilt as homage to his Scottish character.

Pegg said the premiere was "very special".

"It''s the Empire Leicester Square. I saw films here as a child... it''s a geek dream come true," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

Abrams revealed that Matt was his first choice for the starring role of Kirk - but he is glad to have been given the chance to subsequently hire little known actor Chris Pine.

"I actually approached Matt and we had some discussions, but everything happens for a reason. On the one hand, it would have been great to work with Matt - but at the end of the day, it was such a better move to cast the movie with unknowns,” The Daily Star quoted J. J., as telling Life magazine.

The technique was developed by researchers working with Yugen Zhang and Jackie Y. Ying at the Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology in Singapore.

As reported in the journal Angewandte Chemie, the scheme is based on an N-heterocyclic carbene catalyst and a silane as the reducing agent.
