London - Manchester City manager Mark Hughes confirmed on Tuesday that striker Craig Bellamy is likely to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.

The Wales international has missed City's last three games after suffering the injury during City's 3-1 UEFA Cup quarter-final first leg defeat to Hamburg.

"Craig has got to have complete rest for two weeks then he comes back for strength work," said Hughes.

"Hopefully he might get the last couple of games, but the probability is that he won't."

New Delhi, Apr 21: Chief Election Commissioner Navin Chawla on Tuesday was accused by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati of working on the directions of the Congress.

Responding to Mayawati's allegations, Chawla reminded her that she herself had appreciated the conduct of the 2007 Assembly elections.

Talking to reporters here, Chawla said, "Ms Mayawati herself had come to the Election Commission on a Sunday in 2007 and spent one hour (with us) and congratulated the EC for conducting a free, fair and transparent election (in the state)."

Washington, April 21 : Miss USA runner-up Carrie Prejean believes ‘God was testing her faith’ after she answered a question about gay marriage.

Miss California, during the recent Miss USA telecast, had picked Perez Hilton''s question and replied she was against the legalisation of gay marriage in California.

And when asked how was she feeling after missing out on the crown, religious Prejean said it was another test.

Prague - The European Union is to hold a summit with South Korea in Seoul on May 23, officials said Tuesday. The meeting will be chaired by Czech President Vaclav Klaus, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the
27-member bloc.

Acting Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek and his visiting South Korean counterpart Han Seung-Soo told reporters the summit would tackle economic issues.

Washington, Apr 21: Researchers from Fox Chase Cancer Centre have found that pregnancy hormone hCG protects against breast cancer even in short-term treatments.

Lead researcher Dr Johana Vanegas showed that presence of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), a hormone produced by the placenta to maintain the early stages of pregnancy offers protection against breast cancer.

She said that even a much shorter exposure to hCG could prevent breast cancer in rats.

Vilnius  - Lithuanian Foreign Minister Vygaudas Usackas said Tuesday that his country reserved the right to leave the UN's racism conference in Geneva early if the final declaration proved unacceptable, or even if the atmosphere turned sour.

Speaking during a working visit to Poland, Usackas described a speech delivered Monday by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at the conference on racism as unacceptable, provoking and insulting to Israel and the Jewish people.
