China protests Vietnam's 'illegal' governor of disputed islands Beijing - China on Tuesday protested Vietnam's "illegal" appointment of a governor for the disputed Xisha islands in the South China Sea. "China has indisputable sovereignty over the Xisha islands and their adjacent waters," foreign ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said in a statement.

Vietnam's April 25 appointment of a chairman of a People's Committee for the islands - also known internationally as the Paracels, and in Vietnam as the Huyen dao Hoang Sa - was "illegal and invalid," Jiang said.

EU must obey Nicosia's rulings, even in north Cyprus, EU court says Luxembourg - European Union member states must enforce rulings by courts in the Greek half of Cyprus even if they cover property in the Turkish-controlled north of the island, the EU's highest court ruled on Tuesday. "A judgment of a court in the Republic of Cyprus must be recognized and enforced by the other (EU) member states even if it concerns land situated in the north of the island," the European Court of Justice said in a statement.

Biocon Q4 net profit plunges 61%

BioconBiocon Ltd, a fully integrated healthcare company that delivers innovative biopharmaceutical solutions, has registered 61% decline its net profit to Rs 24.14 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009, against Rs 62.03 crore reported during the same quarter ended March 31, 2008.

In addition, company's total income for the quarter has also increased to Rs 239.84 crore from Rs 236.71 crore during the same quarter in 2007-08.

For the financial year ended March 2009, the company posted a net profit after tax of Rs 111.81 crore, down 74 per cent against Rs 434.94 crore in FY'08.

Heynckes, 63, will be in charge of his first training session after a formal presentation at the club's grounds in Munich.
