FIAT manages to sell only 65 units of FIAT 500 since launch

FIAT manages to sell only 65 units of FIAT 500 since launchIt's been close to two years that FIAT made its India foray with the launch of the FIAT 500, but the product has just managed to sell 65 units in the Indian market.

The fact that FIAT has been lagging behind as far as its sales for 500 is concerned testifies the fact that Indian consumer can afford to buy expensive cars and which explains the successful run luxury car makers like BMW, Audi and Mercedes Benz have been selling in India and runs more after the image.

In fact, even the stripped down version of BMW 3 Series has got an overwhelming response from the consumers in the Indian market.

But as far as the Italian auto major is concerned, it is of a view that the company had launched 500 with a view top establish the FIAT brand in the Indian market and the company even doesn't want to sell it to everyone in the Indian market as it makes a check of the profile before handing over the product to the prospective consumer.

Moreover, apart from the 500, products like Linea and Punto have been bringing steady volumes for FIAT in the Indian market.
