FAA not to allow Amazon drone delivery plans

FAA not to allow Amazon drone delivery plansThe Federal Aviation Administration has said that it does not allow commercial unmanned flights at present and it is unlikely to permit Amazon to use its drone flights for delivering packages.

Jeff Bezos, the head of Amazon, had floated the idea of using commercial unmanned flights for delivering packages. The idea has seen reluctance from the regulators and criticism from the shipping industry. Following the guidelines released on 7 November 2013, it is believed that the regulators will not allow such shipments and delivery.

United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS), the largest shipping company, gas said that it had met with some drone providers but is not considering that delivery medium at present. The Amazon CEO is working on the idea to develop all aircraft to get parcels to customers in 30 minutes or less. There are drones available for the delivery but the idea faces stiff opposition from the people as well as the regulatory framework.

Amazon. com Inc. says it's working on the so-called Prime Air unmanned aircraft project but said that it will take years for the technology to be developed and the regulatory framework to be in place for such a delivery medium.
