Ex-Prez Carter Supports Trump in Presidential Election
When the former president, Jimmy Carter, was asked who he thinks could make an ideal president for the following four years of the US, he said Donald trump. The reason why Carter chose Trump over Ted Cruz was his malleable character. Cater said that Cruz is not malleable..
"I think I would choose Trump, which may surprise some of you, but the reason is Trump has proven already that he's completely malleable. I don't think he has any fixed opinions that he would really go to the White House and fight for. Ted Cruz is not malleable. He has far right-wing policies, in my opinion, that would be pursued aggressively if and when he would become the President," said Carter, the liberal former president, to the House of Lords, when asked about the US Presidential elections. According to Carter, being a Democrat, he will support whichever Democratic candidate wins the nomination.
When Cruz was asked how he viewed Carter’s statement at a school’s function on Wednesday night, he answered, “Get the video, I want the video. I’m going to pay to air Jimmy Carter attacking me”.
Though Carter believed that the future of the Republican Party was unpredictable, he still supports Trump. Carter aid Cruz has zero support from his fellow senators. Marco Rubio has a better chance. The former president also lamented over massive infusion of money into the American political system.
