Investigators believe that there could be more victims of a man who fooled people by portraying himself as a cancer doctor. The East Bay man fooled patients giving them a false hope and charging several thousand dollars for the treatment.

Fern, one of the victims and a stage four breast cancer claims El Cerrito's Vincent Gammill, 69, portrayed himself as a doctor and fooled her to spend $2,000 on bogus treatments, including mixing of a concoction at Gammill's Richmond office that included a bag of dirt.

Fern said that she mixed the prescription and put in into her mouth. She even told Gammill that it is burning. He said its good signal as this means that it is still active.

Gammill is out on bail and being accused of practicing medicine and furnishing drugs without a license. According to Ventura County detectives, Gammill had a large store of prescription drugs at his El Cerrito home and at a Richmond office.

They found that some of those drugs are as powerful as morphine and most were expired. Ventura County Sheriff's Office Det. Robert Davidson said in a statement that they have found over 25,000 doses of prescription medication.

Gammill also has a website for his Natural Oncology Institute where he claims to treat cancer patients with a wide variety of affordable options.

Gammill did not respond to ABC7 News' requests for giving any comment on the issue and is expected back in court in Ventura County next month.

In another case, a doctor was recently arrested for destroying the lives of nearly 600 patients and some of them were even killed by his actions.
