Courier service provider DTDC Courier & Cargo on Tuesday announced the launch of a specialist logistics firm called DotZot, with a claim that the new firm would be decisive for merchants who are searching for ways to grow their e-commerce businesses.
DotZot CEO Sanjiv Kathuria said that the new company would provide merchants with new solutions to meet the logistics requirements of e-retail companies.
Speaking about the new company, Kathuria added, "E-retail needs a focused, different and innovative approach for order fulfilment. DotZot will be decisive for merchants, who are looking at growing and retaining their e-powered customers."
Kathuria also claimed that the new service help e-commerce companies in reducing their costs.
The courier service provider will not have to make any big investment in the new venture as it already has the required logistics infrastructure. The company will only have to spend on developing the IT processes and hiring professionals.
Kathuria said the company wanted to move from being the largest logistics firm by volume to become the largest by value. DTDC moves nearly four lakh shipments per day.
DTDC expects DotZot to reach revenue of Rs 100 crore by the year 2016 and contribute nearly a fifth of its total revenue by the end of current decade.
