DHL opens warehouse cum airfreight office at Bengaluru International AirportBengaluru, May 6 : DHL, the world’s leading express and logistics company, today inaugurated a warehouse cum airfreight office inside the new air cargo terminal at the Bengaluru International Airport.

DHL Global Forwarding office has been given the area of 1255 sq meters dedicated for imports and exports inside the cargo terminal.

The office is considered to be a major development in the air cargo space in India, as this is the first time any organisation has been given the permission to have direct access to cargo within a bonded area at an airport, said DHL spokesperson.

Tony Widmer, global Head of Air Freight for DHL Global Forwarding said, “South India is an important region for DHL Global Forwarding given the flow of cargo and the growth that we have experienced over the last few years.”

“DHL currently has a 24 per cent market share of the total import and export volumes from Bengaluru. We expect to grow over 20 per cent in the next year and this facility at the Bengaluru International Airport is a key component of our strategy for South India,” he added. (ANI)
