Dev Saab Turns 85

It was a Celebration time on Friday for veteran actor Dev Anand who turned 85. Dev Saab Turns 85While he was preparing for his way to London for the promotion of his Autobiography, the Global Edition of it, he was generous enough to still take time out to share his Birthday in the company of his admirers.

Though 85, his age doesn’t seem to bar him from any of his activities when he was found busy shooting for his home productions “Chargesheet” and was thronged in his Bandra located studio office by his admirers.

On this occasion the actor said, "I have completed the first schedule at Filmistan studio and am leaving for London on Saturday to release the international edition of my autobiography 'Romancing with Life." He also added that he’ll be returning to work on his home production that is scheduled to be shot at Mahableshwar in the first week of October. While he didn’t disclosed the cast of his movie, just said that he’ll be introducing some fresh new faces.

Before going forth for shooting he plans to complete the recordings of the songs with the Singer, Asha Bhonsle. While the singer will be singing for his banner after 28 years the last film in which she sang was "Lootmaar" released in 1980. His last Home production was about two years ago "Mr Prime Minister" in which a special screening with our very own Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was done with whom he shares his birthday.  

A person who made his mark in the Film Fraternity with his debut in fifties he’s been constantly working. Fondly known as “Devsaab” he commented "I have been in the show business for 61 years. I was actively involved in this business, in the business of making motion pictures, writing, directing, acting, behind the camera, creating and introducing people." 

He’s been awarded time and again with his contributions to Bollywood. Amongst the coveted awards he’s been rewarded are India's third highest civilian award, the Padma Bhushan in 2001, followed by India's highest award for cinematic excellence, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2002. His works has been appreciated world wide, the testimony of this fact is he being awarded for 'Outstanding Contribution to Indian Cinema' by Hillary Clinton

The evergreen actor, the winner of many Filmfares has won the accolades of millions of his fans for his films like Guide, Jewel Thief, and Hare Rama Hare Krishna. While his autobiography was released last year on his birthday, Dev Anand is all set to make a Global impact of it with its release World over this time around.
