Finally Deepak and Nishtha or ‘Desi Dhurandhars’ won the 9X’s reality dance and music show “Gini & Jony Chak De Bachche” after defeating another extremely talented jodi Varun and Loria or ‘Metro Rockers’ at the grand finale, which held at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) on August 02.

Desi Dhurandhars impressed the jury members and the viewers through her power-pack performances, and got the highest votes.

ODI and T20 captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and superb batsman Yuvraj Singh were the special guests at the grand finale. Dhoni supported small townners ‘Desi Dhurandhars,’ whereas Yuvi represented the metro kids.

The hard-working Deepak and Nishtha have been presented the coveted trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 5 lakhs, whereas the runner-up got Rs 2.5 lakh as prize money.

While Deepak is from Ranchi, Nishtha belongs to Udaipur. Varun and Loria are from Ludhiana and Jaipur, respectively.

Both the superb teams also won a chance to visit ‘Disneyland’ with their family members and an extra cash prize of Rs 25,000 from apparel store Gini and Jonny.

Besides, the show has seen many Bollywood glitterati that include playback singer Kumar Sanu, music composers Jatin, Salim and Sulaiman, choreographer Ganesh Achariya and actress Raveena Tandon.

The reality was hosted by Bhojpuri actor-singer Manoj Tiwari and talented actress Roshni Chopra.

Now, 9X has decided to launch a new show on the same lines of competition between people of small towns and metros for adults titled Shaher Di Kudiye-Gali De Munde. While girls will represent the metros, guys will play people of small towns.
