Dale Steyn ‘blow away’ Indian line, takes SA to win

Dale-SteynIt will not be wrong to call the South African bowler Dale Steyn, an unstoppable force after his performance in the match against India in which he ran through the line-up and led the visitors to victory. South Africa beat India by an innings and six runs at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur

The captain of the Indian cricket team, M. S. Dhoni said that the team's defeat was due to Dale Steyn's "amazing" bowling performance. The captain said, "I think we were blown away by Dale Steyn."

He further said that the team was doing fairly well until the ball was changed and luckily the ball was reverse swinging. However the credit still goes to Steyn, he said.

Another bowler, left-arm spinner Paul Harris also caused difficulties for the team. He took three crucial wickets on Tuesday while a forth was not given by the empire.

Relating to the bowling of Indian side, Dhoni said that the inability to trigger reverse swing had hurt his fast bowlers. The captain showed his confidence in Harbhajan Singh and said he was not worried about him and he is a 'great bowler'.

Dhoni was hopeful about V. V. S. Laxman and Rahul Dravid recovering in time for the second test match.

Graeme Smith, the captain of South African team said the reason they were able to win the game was that his team did not try to change the way they play cricket even though the conditions were largely different.

South Africa has taken a lead of 1-0 in the two-Test series which has brought it closer to the number one position in the test ranking. The defeat was the first under the captaincy of Dhoni and after year-and-a-half for India.

It was asked if the South African team deserved the number position, Smith responded by saying that his team deserves it more as they have recorded wins around the world.
